Welcome! My name is Linda and I'm a Scambaiter, but I actually call myself a "Scambatter"!
I became acquainted with scam e-mails while my younger son was still in high school. He would get these e-mails, inviting him to visit porn sites or to purchase Viagra (as if a 16-year old needs Viagra, lol!) Gradually, I began to receive the same scams, then it became lottery scams, and, now, 12 years later, it's "Anything Goes"!
I don't know about you, but I hate scams. They crowd your inbox, which is supposed to be e-mails from friends and family and things you actually want. So you have to go through and delete them out. Big waste of time, or so I thought. Then I began reading about people who've been scammed by ruthless, greedy, unfeeling thieves, and I couldn't help but think that if my mother knew anything about computers, she could very well be one of those victims. And the scams just kept coming and coming, and they were becoming more annoying. What to do?
I started my first blog (http://www.spammerhammer.blogspot.com/) and there are over 2,000 scam e-mails on it. So now it's time to start another blog, and these will contain my replies to these inhuman monsters who try to rob and extort money from people. It's time we started standing up to these thieving lowlifes and fight back!!! Yeah, I'm mad as hell, excuse the phrase, and I don't mind spouting off one bit!
I have a fellow Scambatter, Rob, who I hope will soon be contributing to my blog, because he's got some good answers for them!
